A fresh new look

Categories: Personal Experiences

It has been a week since I last shared anything here, but I haven’t been sitting around doing nothing. If you visit Mute Doodle Den directly, you will see a lot of changes.

The biggest one is an entirely new homepage. I merged my former about and contact pages into it because it made more sense to have everything in one place. The layout got changed too. I added a custom menu that actually fits with the site and fixed several things that were not working right before.

I chose to keep the about text that was written by my friends and family over at the Calmth blog. That is where I started out blogging, and they are the ones who financed this entire blog. It felt right to keep what was written by the people who gave life to this place.

Another major change is proper photos of myself. I am not into showing myself off—that is just not part of my personality. However, I am aware people want authenticity, especially with so much AI content now. For this reason, I took a professional photographer up on her offer to make proper photos of me. I am now using them across my social media and here on the blog.

For anyone wondering, it was an offer I got from babysitting her daughter a few times. The first time we met, she said I was really photogenic and would love me as a model sometimes. I did not expect that at all, as up until then I had more of an emo/goth look.

Those are the biggest changes. There are other smaller ones you can notice by looking around. I hope you like what you see.

Stanisław (Staś) is a 13-year-old poet and blogger from Szczecin, Poland. Born with bilateral vocal-fold agenesis—a rare condition where the vocal folds never developed—he has been completely mute since birth. As an autistic writer who spent years in foster care before being adopted, Staś uses poetry and creative writing as his primary means of expression and communication. His work explores themes of silence, identity, disability, and the human experience through a perspective shaped by his Polish and Japanese heritage. Staś founded Mute Doodle Den in 2025 as a platform to share his poetry and challenge conventional narratives about disability and communication. His writing style is raw, honest, and deliberately avoids romanticized portrayals of his experiences. When he's not writing, Staś enjoys cycling, doodling / drawing, photography, reading, listening to music (especially metal), gaming, stargazing, and hiking.
